Thanks to everyone for a very successful January meetup! We had a record number of over 35 people show for our January meetup! Thanks to all for coming and continuing to make the meetup group a success. I'm sorry we didn't have any activity. However with the many different levels that showed, everyone seemed to be occupied in conversation, practice and learning. Our next meetup will be in February on the 28th at the Arundel Mills mall food court from 10:00am to 1:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Don't be shy, we have had signers of all levels attend from signers that are self-taught through books and videos to signers that have taken formal classes at local area universities. Everyone is friendly and we're here to help one another achieve a higher skill level.

Brunch from 10:00am to 1:00pm. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and contacts. Remember, meetings can't happen without you and you are more than welcome to join us!

Many great thanks to John for filling in as the meetup leader. John did a super job and the feedback that I got was great. I am looking forward to meeting many of you next time. I thank you all for coming!

    •  John was great. He took charge and made sure everyone got introduced and said a little something about themselves. I learned a lot about the people that came today. It was very enjoyable and I look forward to seeing everyone again in April. My only wish is that the meeting was biweekly. Once a month is too long.
    •  Got there too late to join the circle, but my two new learners and I watched and they picked up a few new signs.
    •  This was my first Asl meeting that I have attended. I had such a great time!!! The meeting ran smoothly by a gentleman named John (?) I wish I was 100% sure of his name but there were so many new names! I know he is a soccor coach!!! He as well as everyone there were enjoyable, fun and accepting of others. All were made to feel comfortable no matter their level of sign. (That was perhaps the best part). If a person was fluent in sign or very fast they were reminded kindly to sign slower for others to understand. I am so pleased to have had this opportunity to meet such wonderful people. Thanks, Sandi LaFevers
    •  Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I had lots of fun and learned a few new signs as well. I never felt excluded even though I am not very proficient in ASL. Everyone was willing to help and the experienced ASLers were very good at "slowing down" for those of us that are not as fast.
    •  This one has grown quite a bit compare to last year. This time, there is about 30 people or more. So, may want to conisider break this group up to two group. One with ASL 1&2, Second with ASL 3&4. Then put more flunent signers split with either group then switch the funent signers at "break" time. Hopefully get will get new ASL signers more practice without being overwhelm. Just a thought.
    •  I was there for a short time. I really enjoyed the game we played with the ABC's. I would like to do it again but stay until the end, because I loved learning new signs.
