Hi all! Hope you have been doing well. Just to let you all know as well, there will be no meeting in June as we'll be taking a break for the month for summer vacations. Saturday the 19th of July at 7pm will resume our regularly scheduled meetings - the third Saturday of each month. You will find us at the Starbucks inside the Greenbrier Barnes & Noble. I've been wanting to learn ASL for awhile now, but just haven't had the time to find a group to meet with, as the Navy consumes alot of my time.

I started ASL with my daughter when she was 9 months old and I am hooked! She is now 2 and can sign around 50 different signs and I have been researching ever since I found out I was pregnant. Would love to become fluent but need help and guidance.

How is learning sign language going? I know it can be challenging, but very rewarding. How is your son doing?

Sign language is an amazing language to teach your children. I have been teaching myself and my daughter for the last 1.5 years. It's great! Have you tried www.signingtime.com? They have a TV show on PBS and you can get the DVDs at the library. That's how my daughter has learned over 300 signs! And she's not even 2 yet!
